Import manifest declaration
Used by the shipping company or ship's agent to provide Customs with a list of the goods being imported from overseas on a particular ship and unloaded in the Belgian ports.
The import manifest declaration that is sent to the Customs authorities is a summary of goods that have been imported from overseas and unloaded in the Belgian ports.
How does it work?
Before a ship arrives, the shipping company or ship's agent sends the cargo details to Customs using the CUSCAR message. The CUSCAR message is an electronic version of the 126 freight list, containing the following cargo information:
- Type of goods
- Number of goods
- Characteristics and numbers of packages
- Container number
- Gross weight
