Port of Antwerp

ISPS declaration

Used to send an ISPS Declaration electronically to the authorities concerned when sending ships to an EU port.

Under the terms of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code), ships wishing to call at an EU port must send certain information to the relevant authorities in the form of an "ISPS Declaration."

How does it work?

The shipping company or ship's agent fills in an ISPS declaration form and sends it by email or fax to the Customs authorities not later than 24 hours before arrival of the ship, stating:

  • Identification details of the ship
  • Last 10 port facilities called at (including the security level of these facilities)
  • The current level of security under which the ship operates
