Notification of arrival of import consignment (seagoing ship)
Used by the shipping company to inform the forwarder or consignee immediately of the ETA of import goods and the arrangements for their collection, so that they can make the necessary preparations.
The ship's agent notifies the consignee whenever the goods are available, so that the consignee or forwarder can make the necessary preparations.
How does it work?
Based on the manifest information from the port of lading, the ship's agent creates the arrival message which is sent to the consignee and the latter's representative ("notify party"). Most ship's agents send this arrival notice by e-mail.
