Port of Antwerp

Container booking notification

Used by the ship's agent to notify the terminal operator of the bookings accepted, from the beginning, so that the terminal operator can organise the gate handling.

What is it?

The ship's agent receives a transport order from the shipper and passes it on to the terminal operator. The ship's agent sends the information concerning the booking to the terminal operator. On the basis of this information the terminal operator includes the container in his terminal planning, according to the planned berth location for the ship. The terminal operator informs the ship's agent of these container movements on the terminal, including the mode of transport and any cases of damage.

How does it work?

The ship's agent sends a COPARN message to the terminal operator, or enters the data in the terminal operators e-portal.

The terminal operator announces each gate movement to the ship's agent by means of a CODECO message.
