Transport booking (seagoing ship)
Used by the forwarder or shipper wishing to book sea transport, to quickly and easily send all the information concerning the consignment to the shipping company or ship's agent.
The forwarder or shipper books sea transport with all the information on the consignment.
How does it work?
The shipper/forwarder sends an IFTMBF message to the shipping company or ship's agent with all the details of the consignment. This information can also be entered in a web portal or one of the various multi-carrier portals.
The shipping company decides whether it accepts the booking and sends the IFTMBC message in response.
